1) Is the part between the arrows in figure 1 missing something? When I pull the bracket out of the z-bar a bunch of crud came out and I don't know if there was some kind of sleeve covering that part.
2) Which way is the bracket mounted to the engine? Like figure 2 or figure 3?

Question 2 my Z bar as in figure 3 on my 63. I doubt there is any difference. When it's installed correctly it sits pretty level. If installed wrong it's at a bad angle.
