Working on my 51 and having a situation. Trying to remove the steering colum from the steering box. I have removed the top 4 bolts removed the bottam cap and removed the 4 side bolt tried to drive out that plate only goes half way Still cant sepperate the two What am I doing wrong???

It doesn't separate there, actually it doesn't separate anywhere. You need to remove the steering box and column as an assembly,

Hy Robin71, all I can think of at the moment is that the steering box needs to be centered to be taken apart, possibly one of the sector shaft teeth is hitting the housing and not allowing it to come out. The steering shaft comes out the bottom of the box when the sector shaft is removed, if my memory is correct, hope that helps.
