I put in new vacuum lines, (thought it maybe needed more umph), but no change. Is this normal? It seems odd that the driver would have to constantly change the direction of the wiper.
Also, unlike my 54, the seat in the 46 does not move. It is bolted to the base. Did they move in 46? Perhaps this seat is a replacement, and the person eliminated the track and just bolted this? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,107 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,107 | i didnt have to hit my knob to get them to work but had to keep jiggling the the knob and i could rotate the knob almost a whole 360. when i pulled the dash console out to repaint it and the dash i was checking out the wiper linkge from the knob to the wiper motor(sure beats standing on your head). i saw that the knob arm was bent and the grommet that holds the linkage to the knob was missing. i removed the linkage and moved the arm on the wiper motor to the on position and low and behold the wipers work as perfect. luckily i have another truck with the same set up and saw that the knob arm is straight and has a slight twist forward to line up with the wiper motor arm. maybe your fix is just as simple. new grommet should be on the porch when i get home tomorrow | | | | | Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 66 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 66 | I believe the 56 and the 46 have different cab widths, and you are quite a distance. The 46 is not under the dash, but is a motor at the top of the windshield (one for each side). Thank you for the input, and I'm glad you got yours to work. Scott | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,144 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,144 | not sure about 46 but on 38 you could lift front edge of seat cushion and adjust it forward and back base stays in place. gas tank under seat.seat split so you could move bottom portion independently on either side seat back one piece no movement.
