Can some of you shoot me some pics of where you mounted the brake booster in the engine compartment. The aftermarket unit I used took the guess work placement. I have a 7" corvette style with the reinforced bracket that attached to the firewall & dash. Otherwise do as SW_Radical suggests.

You can get MC kits that will allow you to use the corvette style mc with booster for +- 170.00. works as well without all the fab under the dash and keeps your firewall clean and neat and you can use the original petal.

Talk about styln'. I started trying to position it on the firewall but it seems to be a real juggling act between the steering column, fenderwell, motor and ribs on firewall. The last are the least of my worries.

I don't have that problem, and I have installed two different masters and boosters under the floor, both with disc brakes and 2lb residual pressure valves, absolutely no need to pump the brakes. The systems I installed/put together, if you wanted to try it, would send you through the windshield with the first application. I would be looking for mismatched parts or to small a MC bore if I had to pump the pedal for the brakes to work well. BTW iceburgh great work on those two builds. I will be using those pics as a resource as I complete mine.

In both cases the master cylinder is lower than the wheels cylinders. The one with out power you need to pump 2-3 times with once....or at least that is how I feel when I drive it.

The purpose of the post was to get pics so I can gauge where others who have firewall mount style have put those in relation to the motor and steering column.

If your master cylinder is lower than your wheel cylinders (or disk calipers), then you need to install residual valves in your lines (2-psi for disks, 10psi for drums). These will prevent the brake fluid from running out of the wheel cylinders and back into the reservoir. You are pumping a few times because the lines are empty and need to be refilled.
