Installation was very easy , you get a template for your 3 mounting holes and 2 lines ...the switch is very user freindly and the defrost vents mount right up to your dash..only thing with it is that you have to open an shut doors if you want heat or all defrost ...But it is a very simple clean unit .

The problem is that very little air is actually funneled into the defroster vent hoses when the doors on the heater are shut. While I don't drive my truck much when the temps are low enough for the defrost to be needed, if I did, I would be in trouble as I don't think I would have enough air flow through the defrost vents to keep the windshield clear, nor would it keep my feet from freezing if I elected to leave the vent windows open.
The other issue I have is the fan speed. The unit has two speeds, but both seem quite high, resulting in an awful lot of noise, without producing the necessary airflow..... | | | | | Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 586 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 586 | Don't say it's very cold in S.J., Ca. Cecil.... | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 13 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 13 | first let me thank all of the guys on this site for their help. i am not the best restorer but i am learning. the heater unit that i bought works great. i had to drill and file and drill again but it was exciting doing the work myself. the way i mounted it was with one of the doors facing up toward the windows to use in defrost mode. this can be done without the use of hoses. i also changed the generator to an alternor and what a differce. next is a new carb, 2 sinlges and maybe a cam for my 235. if anyone has done a cam and 2 singles carbs let me know and thank you very much for your help. | | |
