Will the oil pan from an early, pre 1954 235, fit on a later 1959 235?
I scouted around but couldn't find the answer in a Stovebolt search.

I see, I had forgot about the dripper trays. Could they be removed and still allow for a proper fit?

The earlier pans have a shorter sump. That doesn't answer your question, but they are different. I've read that the later ones have a better design for the way the oil moves around inside.

Pre-Powerglide? Didn't Powerglide transmissions become available in 1950, using a low-pressure 235 engine (with hydraulic lifters) until 1953?

The pre-1954 truck engine oil pans are different but they might bolt up? The oil-sump comment posted above is important.

Starting in 1955 the pan rail bulges out in the middle on the pass side. 1940-54 are straight down both sides. They will not interchange.
