Does this suspension unbolt like the old Aspens and Volaries or was someone using the frame stub and all? I guess I could crawl under and see for myself but this time of the year in Michigan, I would rather just ask. I have a '96 Dakota Ext cab 2 wheel drive for sale for $500.00 and thought that if the front suspension would work under my '53, I would use it and the rear end. As long as I already own the Dakota, I would be able to save a few bucks. Thanks Don

I have seen some Dakota's used this way but it's been too long to remember how it was done. My suspicion is that it is welded to the frame and not a bolt on deal. But for $500 bucks I'd go for it. They're also a real pita to get aligned right because of the upper control arm design. There's also limitations in aftermarket wheels if it's the 6 lug due to the odd bolt circle size.
