There are different brackets used to mount the body on a panel or Suburban than those used to mount a pickup cab and box. The radiator mount and front cab mounts are the same, the differences start with the mount just back of the seat.
I've taken both apart, and one of the things I wanted to accomplish was a good understanding of those differences.

There are frame body-mounts that are specific to the panel body (in the rear).
Non of these things would make it difficult to mount a 1954 1/2 ton Pickup bed on a 1954 Suburban chassis.
As stated in another recent thread, the big differences in 1/2 ton chassis are between the 1953 and the 1954/55-1st and the 1955-2nd.

I don't know what the prices on ebay are, I bought a new reprint from one of the vendors. I'm glad I have that book.
The reprint has limited Suburban specific detail. If you can get an original copy it may have much more information.
