I have a jack and the folding handle in the garage. Send me an email to remind me and I'll shoot them for you tomorrow. Unless you get a better offer in the meantime.

Hey blu, why don't ya post those pics? I'm sure a lot of the other guys would like to see them also. This has been the subject for discussion many times before and I've been keeping a folder with all the pics of the different years.
Is that jack and handle for your '49 or is it just one you picked up somewhere and don't really know what it's originally for??

On a simular note...Where did they store "The Tools" in the half ton? I need a tool set for my 46 and always wonder where in the heck one would store them? I bought a 2 ton bottle jack and need to carry a couple of other tools just in case of an emergency, like a flat tire!!

Here are some pictures of jacks and handles.

There were different sizes of jacks for different sizes of trucks. Also, the appearance/style of the jack might have changed over the years?

The Restoration Pack manual of specifications give closed and extended heights of the jacks.

Most likely the jack and handle were stored in the compartment under the seat. They were almost always lost over the years, most likely when they were removed to change a tire or when they were removed because they made too much noise, rattling under the seat?

I lift up my seat and there is the gas tank with no room for anything to be stored on top of it. Would there be an alternative place to store tools?

Post the photos? Love to but despite reading all the "how-to" instructions on posting I still cannot figure it out. As far as authenticity is concerned I cannot say. It is a mechanical bottle jack with a folding handle. It was in the truck when I bought 15 years back. Looks like what I thought they were.

oleblu49 - Since the site administrators prefer that photos not be posted inline (meaning embedded in your post) your photos need to be residing on a "host" site from which they can be linked.

Supposing you have a host site like Photobucket, Webshots, etc. simply go to that site and click on the photo or album you want to link. In your browser's toolbar you should then be able to see the URL (Universal Resource Locater) address of the photo. Highlight and then copy the URL of your photo.

In your post you can then include the hyper-link to the photo by using the "Link" button in the full reply screen. The link icon is on the far left next to the envelope icon. Have your cursor located where you want the link to appear in your message and click the link icon. You will first be prompted to "enter the complete URL for the link you want to add". Simply post your previously copied URL in the text box. Next you will be prompted to "Enter the title of the web page you are linking." Enter the appropriate text and then click "Okay". You will hopefully end up with something like this which is a link to a jack in my album. If I can be of any additional assistance don't hesitate to ask.

Don

Don, will look at it again but from past experience with this Hiogh speed modem (supposed to be high speed) it takes forever.

Bill you can email them to me and I can stick them on my photobucket account if it'd be easier.

Take your pics, put them up on Webshots and while you're waiting for them to upload, drink a few beers.

Hey Don you have an older truck, did they mount the tank under the seat back then? I'm only familiar with the AD's.
