i sand blasted the steering box and column and por 15 the box and column up to the firewall. drilled and tapped the column for my tach-o-meter and blinker arm and painted the rest of the column is interior cab color. i also re-greased the upper steering column bearing w/ grease.
i sealed the steering box first w/ black silicon sealant
