For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 37 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 37 | Hey everybody, I'm new to the site and I'm glad to be here. I recently bought a 65 C-10 SWB fleetside and am in the process of tearin down to rebuild. My problem is when cleaning up my trailin arms, I noticed they both are rusted through in a few spots. Is it safe to try and patch these or should I junk them and buy new. If buying new where is the best place to order? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 247 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 247 | First of all I would like to welcome you to the bolt. You will meet lots of great people here. It it was my truck, I would not use the trailing arms that are rusted through. That is part of your rear suspension, and to me, it could be a saftety issue. I am not aware of any venders that have them, but you might be able to find some used ones off of another truck. Good luck with your project. LMC has new ones & there is probably plenty of used ones around. You can also get bushings for them. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. I would have to agree with the folks thus far. There will be plenty of opportunities to cut corners but this is not worthy of one of them.
