The motor on my electric cooling fan started making a "grinding" sound, so I pulled it off so I could find the problem. The motor shaft was hard to turn and appeared to be binding up on something. I took it apart and found the magnets had come "unglued" from the body of the motor. Anyone have any idea where to get the proper glue, epoxy, or whatever it would take to glue the magnets back? Everything else inside the motor looked good, so I hope I can save the fan.

Turnipseed,

Great handle, brings a smile to my face. smile I sure can't envision glued on magnets, but seeing must be believing. Your local ACE hardware or similar hardware store has a huge selection of epoxies...at least mine does.

My ACE carries DEVCON high strength versions that I know are very strong.

It seems like every little DC motor I have ever torn apart had a rotor that was made of the laminated pieces and then wound with magnet wire. I have never seen any magnets that were glued on.
