For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 35 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2005 Posts: 35 | What is this thing?
'55 to '59 truck cab with gull wing hood. Pontiac V8 motor. This thing is HUGE. Has tandem axles. I think it is a 454 series truck?
Not sure what it is. Any help here, I could use it.
This has the gull wing style hood. It has single headlights, the cab is just like the half tons of this era.
Anyone have any pics of these things?

Pontiac motors were used in V-8 powered Blue Chip trucks, and tandem axles would be a big truck, so GMC 450 series may be right. It may also have been a smller truck and converted to tandem.

Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | I am confused, you ask for info about a truck that it soulds like you have seen. Than you ask US for a picture of it? We should be asking YOU for a picture to help us figure out what it is. After all, we did not see the same truck, or chances are pretty slim... Could it be anything like this one, although this one has a 6-71 Detroit: http://s160.photobucket.com/albums/...ho/?action=view¤t=IMG_2381.jpg Grigg | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 35 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2005 Posts: 35 | Grigg, sorry. I know, how do you post pics anyway? Oh, well. It is not as big as the one you have a link to. I have been doing more research and found that it is a 450 series conventional truck. It is like this one: (but this is not the one I am finding info on). http://images.search.yahoo.com/sear...54&oid=896ce670f68ac1c6&ei=UTF-8 | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 35 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2005 Posts: 35 | Old Sub was right. I got to asking more questions about this truck and found it to be the tandem axle was added later. Any way I have added it on Ebay. Selling it for a friend.
Thanks for all the help and info on this GMC 450. | | |
