What is this thing?

'55 to '59 truck cab with gull wing hood. Pontiac V8 motor. This thing is HUGE. Has tandem axles. I think it is a 454 series truck?

Not sure what it is. Any help here, I could use it.

This has the gull wing style hood. It has single headlights, the cab is just like the half tons of this era.

Anyone have any pics of these things?

Well I think you've already got a pretty good picture. 450 tells you its a '3-ton' (I think) rated truck and the last 4 tells you the wheelbase.

Pontiac motors were used in V-8 powered Blue Chip trucks, and tandem axles would be a big truck, so GMC 450 series may be right. It may also have been a smller truck and converted to tandem.

Hy MyBlueChevy's, It sounds like a 450 series GMC tandem, they came stock with the Pontiac V8 engine up to the 550 series I think, then they had an option of an Oldsmobile V8, the biggest Chevy used the Buick nailhead V8, hope that helps.

I am confused, you ask for info about a truck that it soulds like you have seen.
Than you ask US for a picture of it?

We should be asking YOU for a picture to help us figure out what it is. After all, we did not see the same truck, or chances are pretty slim...

Could it be anything like this one, although this one has a 6-71 Detroit:

Grigg, sorry. I know, how do you post pics anyway?

Oh, well. It is not as big as the one you have a link to. I have been doing more research and found that it is a 450 series conventional truck.

It is like this one: (but this is not the one I am finding info on).

Any way I have added it on Ebay. Selling it for a friend.
