How much should I be willing to go up to? It a 1958 3 speed with overdrive, so I thought that would be perfect for my truck. I was thinking of up to $200.

I would think it would bolt right up to the bellhousing, all I would need to do is shorten the drive shaft.

Like the solenoid, govener, or internal parts. The kick down switch you can use any momentary contact switch that can be adapted to the carb. I have found that you can repair the govener, the big issue is the solenoid.

I now have 7 years on a '62 3sp+od, non-sychro 1st gear. Cruise easily @ 70-75 mph, good fuel mileage..........(.70 X 3.90 = 2.73 final drive in 3rd od)

If you want a minimum price then set that as the starting bid? Right?) So I didn't win because of that. It would be sweet to have it I know, I would save so much on gas and be able to get around alot faster. Well see what happens.

I've bought 2 of them at 2 different swap meets over the years, and could have got a 3rd one when I got that 2nd one. Don't limit yourself to just truck versions. They were very popular in passenger cars, too. Same transmission, the only difference I can see is the speedo gear is set up for 4.10s instead of 3.90.

Just get the most complete one you can. Sometimes you can get lucky and everything works. I have repaired many solenoids and govenors and aftermarket electrical components are available. Lots of info on this site about this subject.
