One door is fine, but the driver side door is missing the piece the pin fits in that attaches to the door. What do they call the piece? I notice two small slots in the door that something fits in to drop the pin through? Where do you find one?? I'm lost!(GRIN)

Mine has two slits on the door which makes me believe the original had two tabs that stuck through the slots and bent down inside the door! I need to look at the one door that has the compete setup!

There are two holes in the hinge and two holes in the swing arms that hold the restricting (door hold open springs) brackets or arms in place. I think you have to remove the hinge pin in order to install the arms. I found holes in each top hinge to mount the springs but don't know anything about the need to weld them. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 110 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 110 | I don't know what model you have, but on a 46 Chevy the bracket that holds the door open is entirely different. It has a rubber end and you have to insert it through the kick panel area.
There is a plate with two loops that the bracket has a pin that secures it to both areas. I wish I was more articulte in describing what I am talking about! Look in the Jim Carter site or catalog for a 46 or later truck and you will see what we are talking about!
