I didn't take the bed off and the sides and front piece that was with the truck were unuseable, so I purchased a complete bed from one of this sites sponsers. The kit came with very minimal instructions.
I'm having trouble figuring out where the cross members fit and how they fit to the frame.
Another question I have is the old front panel had bolts still attached to the flange portion at the bottom, but the new kit looks like you don't bolt thru that flange. The first set of bolts are about 3" back from the front panel. What keeps the panel from being push toward the cab?
Just a little confused at this point.

Aren't the bed sides bolted to the front? Yes, the bed sides are bolted together to the front. Its the bottom flange that is the question. I got a note from Mark from Mar K and he gave me some tips. I will work on those but will keep you in mind if I need anything else.

I noticed that the front fasteners that bolt the front panel to the sides on the original equipment were pan head screws. The kit came with hex head... should these be the pan head to be correct?
Then do you think that these would have been painted from the factory? (the bed being pre assembled then painted).
