Anyone ever tried using hockey pucks instead of wood blocks when mounting the bed? Pucks will outlast wood and there might be a little bit of give in them to make the ride a bit softer. I know that a lot of guys use them to jack their 4WD trucks up,

Don't do it. The pucks will fail on you.

No one uses them on 4x4's anymore because they can't take the abuse.

Use poly bushings from companies like Daystar, Prothane, MORE or original rubber bushings but not pucks.

It just ain't right.

PS: If you own a 63-72 pickup then check this out:

Some interesting answers. I have decided to use the rubber pads. As far as highway patrol is concerned, we don't have to worry much about being stopped for a mechanical inspection. Half the vehicles up here have a burned headlight and have driven that way for years. No one even looks. Sad!

Pucks should only be put in the net
