I purchased it from the Paddock (the believe the part was made by inline tube?) and had to use a 2 inch rubber section and a little bending to connect it to the pump. Now the line is in contact with the water neck. Is that where it is supposed to be... if not will that cause any problems because I am pretty sure that it is heating the fuel.

The replacement I purchased is metal.

Others know more about it than I, and a search of the lounge will tell you how.
That little air cleaner came at the right price, and didn't require an adapter. I know have a larger cleaner with an adapter that was machined from aluminum tube and is a tight fit on the carb.
