'68 Z-28 2 bolt main 302 block

#882's are OK heads, but use the small "peanut" plugs............open chamber type, though.

#993 or #441 is better.....

Your block is probably an "MO" or an MP" block.........not the best "302" blocks for the "z-28"............'69 "DZ" was-is the best, as it has the larger journals, better cam (30-30 Duntov) and the heads had re-developed valve springs for high RPM's........also, z-28 oil pump is heavy duty....will fit ANY SBC.

The 882 heads should be about 72-76cc's, depending on if they have been "shaved" or not......
The block? Hard to say.........not many MO or MP blocks running around........
Are you buying, or selling? Just curious.

I cant seem to figure out what the 3HF means and if the longer number is part of the VIN maybe? Help anyone?

I wouldn't just rely on the balancer being smaller, a lot of things can be changed good or bad on an engine over 30 plus years. Measure the stroke on the crankshaft or if you can get the crankshaft casting number that should tell you.

chevy 302: 3" stroke
327: 3.25" stroke
350: 3.48" stroke

I think all the 327/350 blocks had a 4" bore. But was '68 or '69 the first year for chevy 350? I know '68 was last year for 327.
