It has leafe springs on front and back also knee action shocks .Do I need springs? or shocks? or something else is there a test of some kind--it is a 40 suburban carryall. thanks Bill | | |

Replaced the shocks all the way around, replaced the shackles and pins on the leaf springs. Noted that the clasp that holds th leaves in alignment were shot sot I made and insalled new ones. Took me a weekend and about $200.00 in parts, but he's (trucks are only males) trued-up now with or without the load. Got the shocks from a local auto house, the spring shackles kits from Chevy Duty, and made the clasps out of 3/4" wide flat steel with u-bolt helpers.

Wrenchbender will check spring pins and shackle bushings.
50-Four-Bruce plan to remove springs and inspect everything.- The 40 has knee action shocks have not found any replacements yet. May have to go to later model shock, and make shock brackets. thanks for the info. Bill | | |

Took out the coils and the rubber cover on one was worn right to the metal coil. The other was okay. However once the coils were out the truck leaned to one side. Local spring shop took the leaf spring apart and re-arced them. Fine now. | | |
