I have a 51 sub with only rust and paint left to do.running out time and money. hope this is something that I can do. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 267 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 267 | jm having replaced the entire floor on my 53 panel i dont thik it's too expensive(i guess that is relative) or too hard. a good spot weld cutter is well worth the money as it get the cuts done in a quick. a good welder is required to put it back together.brace everything and have fun. tom

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 16 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 16 | tom thanks for info. but what do you mean by brace everything ?? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 267 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 267 | jm as yor remove the floor things might want to shift if not properly supported. if you remove the rockers ,floor sheetmetal ,ect at the same time the door pillars could not be in the same place when you start to put it all back.weldinging braces before you remove any metal will prevent the cab from settling out of place.check/search, i have seen some pics of some cab work somebody was doing in here.ask in the body/paint section they may have some pics they could direct you towards. tom

My question was... what are you going to use for replacement panels for the floor? Are there reproduction panels out there? and if so are there any for the rockers too for subs. and panels?

Ter | | | | | Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 1,132 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 1,132 | JM I am not a welder or a bodyman by any stretch of the imagination but I stumbled through the replacement of my entire front floor and inner cowl panels plus part of the toeboard. All of the panels are available from most of the usual suppliers. No matter who you get the inner cowl panels from they won't fit very well. This was the only hard part of the whole thing.
