When I first bought this thing it looked like it needed very little bodywork. It appeared that the lower rear corners were the only really bad spots. Got 2 new lower corners from Metalman and welded them on, Came out good. After I had it blasted a lot of other damage showed up, lower windshield corners, rear side window sills and front floor panels along with inner cowl panels. The cherry appearing rear fenders were 90% bondo. The PO didn't bother bumping them out and just covered them with filler however I am gaining on it. I am working with a retired body guy and he is fussier than my wife. Seems like it should be going faster than it is. He only allows me to do the basic hammering and welding and he does the finishing. Whos truck is it anyway? I only wanted it to be a solid driver but its going to end up looking like a new body. I am not complaining but at my age I am hoping to drive it for a few years before I croak. I am going to be happy with it even if it takes longer than I had hoped. Is this the stage where I hear guys talking about hitting the wall and losing interest? Any encouragement out there? During a 6 year "ressurection" I thought I would never get to ride in my truck. Hang it there, go to a show or something and get "fired UP" again. It would be nice to see some pics of Metalman's panels. The guy is really an artist at this and he does some pretty awesome work.

Ok, now I must ask about the airplane! What kind was it? I had a buddy that built a Steen Skybolt and eventually he took me up for a ride. What a blast that was!

My body guy is workin for free because he is fascinated with the sub. He has never seen one before and can't stay away. PopC the Cubs are doing great so far, maybe the bubble won't burst until July. Ter Red Green is one of my favorites second only to the 3 Stooges. TruckerN, the airplane is a 1935 Rearwin model 7000 Sportster that I finished in 02. 85 mph cruise @ 1750 rpm. The engine is a LeBlond 5E five cylinder radial. Flew it today for the first time since the snow melted and it was just the therapy I needed. Whenever I come to the bolt for advice or encourgement you guts are always there. Thanks so much. I will try not to sweat the small stuff.
