located what appears to be the lever for a semaphore style turning signal above the left of the driver side door anyone have any info about this semaphore style turning signal (ie)pictures
drawings or spec. on this matter

So it would have been a local dealer-installed option. The ones I've seen on commercial trucks from the early days involved a cable-and-pulley arrangement to a lever which, depending on the way it was pulled, flipped one semaphore or the other out, and once it was extended, a contact was closed illuminating the light.

They were only on the drivers side and went up to signify a right turn and out to signify a left turn, basically the same as an arm signal. I don't recall if they had the 45 degrees up to signal the intent to stop.
