Well,

Brakes are nearly complete awaiting two springs from chevy duty, and some rubber hoses

Gas tank is reacoated inside, and curing.

Wheels, well I got some from the junkyard yesterday, 4 different. :o

None gonna fit. The smallest is a 16 x 6 rim 8 lug of course. it rubs the tie rod when turned to the right all the way. The next is a 16 x 6.5, too wide. The otheres, well they were too wide. This is waht happens when you let someone else go to the junkyard while your at work.

I do have the split rims they are fifteen inch, My reasoning was I just happen to have a set of 16" tires and thought that it would be chaeper to put 16" rims on then it would be to put a new set of rubber on the split rims.

sooooo now back to step one. I will do a little research around town to see who is willing to work on split rims. I can disamatle , sandbalst and paint. But I need someone else to mount and balance.

I had Stockton wheels take my original centers off my split rims and build new 16" rims to accept modern radials. They had to be reverse offset to clear the tie rod ends, but I get to use my original hubcaps and they look great. It also took them 4 months when they said 4 weeks initially. Just an option.

Alright I have the dilema solved, I check with the local tire shop and they literally laughed at me when I hsked if they could handle my split rims. NO problem they said these are not a bit dangerous to us.

So currently the wheels are being blasted and primed with chemchromic white, and then they'll head to the tire shop for new rubber.

THe tire shop has instock 15-700 8 ply tires. I will goahead and srping for new tubes and sleeves. I will post pics when done, surley it will be quite the truck all rusty and brown with new shoes.
