So what did everybody do this weekend?


The weekend started out with volunteer services at our local dog park, we spend half a day the last Saturday of every month picking up stuff visitors left behind and also picking up apples and stuff.
Then:
I was able to remove the steering box with my new pitman arm puller, scraped 60 years of grease off the engine area of the frame, started to wash and degrease in order to paint it with po15.
Then my wife decided I needed to do some yard work, she ran the mower while I trimmed and edged then she thought a new mailbox would be a good idea so out came the post hole digger.

Anyway, all in all it was a really good weekend, it felt like this two days lasted forever.

I'm still fighting my AC problems in my '56. I talked to the Hotrod Air tech this morning and found that the dryer has a specific inlet and outlet. Of course, I had it wrong. Murphy's law will be strictly enforced. I've got it on the vacuum pump right now. Wish me luck.

Sorry about that I realized I put it in the wrong place awhile back. Am I able to delete a post when I do this?

Another thing ... sometimes we use to have "Weekend Reports" in both the Spoon and the General Truck. But the topic was "Whaddya do on /with your Bolt this weekend?" for General Truck. And then something like "What did you or didn't you do this weekend?" for the Spoon.

Like Cletis said, trying to keep the truck stuff in General Truck!

Saw the post in the Spoon. Even added our weekend. I always like to see what folks have been doing ... or NOT doing!! LOL

If anyone is interested, I made a little progress on my truck today. I received the last shipment of parts from the painter, so I got to work installing the bed.

I also made a decision that I think will look good when it's done. I painted the inner fenders and upper and lower grill skirts white instead of black to help make the engine stand out better.

You need to put a ratchet in your "shop shark's" hand and let him go to work. Great looking truck you got there. Do you think it easier to put the bed together one piece at a time on the truck or finish the assembly then attach to the truck?

I thought it was a piece of cake to put it together on the truck. The only thing I'd do differently (and they still have to come back off one more time) is put the fenders on the sides before I mount the sides. It's tough to get an arm in there with the tire in place to put the washer and nut on the fender bolts.

Yeah, my shop shark was quite happy he got to help out today. It's a great day when you can teach him what a nut, bolt or washer is and he can hand them to you as they're needed. Next: how to read a fraction on a socket.

I put in a new headliner and headliner gasket in my 57 3100. My arms are now permanlantly limp by my side. What agony. I made the mistake of buying the new one from Classic trucks that had no insulated liner. So I bought some self stick duct wrap from Lowes and stuck it to the headliner. So far so good.
