Just brought my '72 C-10 home and am getting ready to do brakes all the way around. Picked up new wheel cylinders and calipers last night. Went back out today to get rotors, pads and hoses for the front only to discover that no one locally has hoses in stock and, worse, no one I checked with even has a listing for the front driver side. What the heck? Anyone have any insight here? If there's one thing I won't take chances with in a vehicle it's the brakes, and I'm not about to entrust my safety and others' to 35-year-old rubber hoses.

Also wondering if anyone has a better (cheaper) source for Russell speed bleeders (#639590) than Summit or Jegs (about $10/pair + crazy handling fee).

Thanks,
Brent

Thanks for the info. I had overlooked the local Napa. Just called them and they'd have to order them in, but at least they can get both sides. Weird that other places can't even get the one side.

Scott -- thanks for the LMC tip. Just ordered all three brake hoses plus a complete new parking brake setup from them.

Also just ordered everything else I need except new steel lines from PartsAmerica.com. Between their good prices on most stuff and the 5% I'll get back by going through FatWallet.com, it could have been a lot bigger hit on the ol' pocketbook. Safety first! :-)

Thanks again,
Brent
