When I got my bed strips in a fairly large order from Jim Carter last summer, I set them aside and at one point painted them. Recently went to put bed together and found out one had been punched wrong. I knew I was way outside of their return policies and I had painted the strip. I was also not about to ship back a 6 ft long $9.00 part. Well I emailed them (as part of another small order) and said, 'I know you don't have to, but on my word, it would be nice if you send new free bedstrip and not require a return.' My wife and I went to Kansas City on Monday and Tuesday of this past week.
I was going to buy some parts for my 1953 3600.
I brought a catalogue for the lenexa store with me.
Driving down 24 highway in Independence, I spot a art deco chevrolet and then Jim Carter's.
My wife was driving the S-10, so she turned around and I got all the parted I wanted.
Good service, reasonable prices and friendly staff at Jim Carter's.

Out of the first 4, three were either screwed up or priced wrong. After email, live help chat, and telephone conversations all I got was the old run around. Unless I cannot find what I want someplace on the planet I would MAYBE consider JC. I was pleased with their knowledge, and service.

Like you, I've had my problems with part quality, same part being sold by ALL of the houses, but it is a relief to know that we aren't having to scrounge for every last part like the guys in the Terraplane Club.
