Its hard to respond to this without more info. I know the bellhousing crossmember on an AD truck is different '47 to '53 versus '54 and '55 1st.

On the earlier trucks the mount pad is horizontal and on the later trucks it is angled. You need to correct bellhousing to match your crossmember.

Sounds like you must have a 47-55 1st series truck. There are guys on the forum that can tell you what year they went from a verticle bolt through the rear mount to the the slanting crossmember and mount. Do you have tube or lever type shocks and does the frame have a distinct kickup over the rear axle (47-53) or is it nearly straight (54-55 1st). All this will help them narrow it down to the near exact year.

thanks to all who have posted to my question. bare with me i'm new to this hobby. i bought this frame as a roller. nothing that really stands out for the year. i can tell it's a 1/2 ton frame from 52 - 55. but not sure on the exact year. it didn't come with a trans crossmember. i have picture of the rear engine crossmember. it's v shaped with about 8" of flat in the middle. i have a picture to show of this crossmember.

Email me a picture of that crossmember and I'll tell you if its '54 or '55 1st, or if its the earlier one. Once you've seen both they are easy to identify.

Do you know this frame is a Chevy or could it be a GMC?

This page has some pictures that will help sort it out.
