on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 37 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 37 | Oh wise ones,
I just received my new brake lines from inlinetube. First, they look great. Second, I have never done a complete "re-line". Anyone, know where I can get a diagram? I really don't want to goof this one up. It came with 6 pieces and I have the 3 hoses. Also bought brand new clips. Any suggestions would be helpful. Be shure & use tubeing wrenches & back up the fitting before tightening. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | Classic Performance Products has a tech help page. The hoses should be labeled as to where they go. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 37 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 37 | OK...Thanks for the help...What I pulled off of the truck doesn't even resemble what I got from Inline. Let me see if I have this figured out. The long line connects to the M/C. Then split off to the driver rear with a T to go accross to the passenger rear another T and a hose...then head up to passenger front connect a hose and then to drive front connect to a hose. Kinda ...maybe right? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 888 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 888 | Just did my 4t6 recently and I had had a total of seven lines. One from MC to brass tee. Off front tee to another 3 way brass connector. One to right front rubber hose one to left rubber hose. Off brass tee to rear of truck connected to rubber hose to rear end brass tee. On rear it split to both wheel cylinders. I made my own lines by using the old ones. I removed after and clearcoated. I included pictures below if I made no sense. Could take more if needed. Hope this helps Dan http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2141598560071274430agewIk | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | I just finished duplicating the original lines on my ’50. I might add after looking at Dan's picture of the front divider that the line leading to it from the center divider should have about a 2" expansion kick up in it allow for adjustment of the length and thermal expansion. In fact all brake lines should have some sort of expansion compensation. This is an exact copy or an original factory line; http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2062157930098611668OdKgrK I had to make up these lines while the truck was still assembled so the angle of the picture is a little cramped but I think you can get the idea.
