When you crank it, you do it clockwise, and you need to always do it on a pull stroke so the crank doesn't rip off your arm or face if the engine backfires. You want to get the crank into the 7:00 position, turn on the ignition, then stand next to it on the passenger side, facing the windshield. Give it a solid pull upward, and let go once you reach 11:00. The engine will spit the crank outward if it starts, if not you want to shut off the ignition and reposition the crank for then next try. It can be dangerous, so don't hurt yourself.

The brake pedal return spring is weak and if I am not careful, it will run the battery down enough to where it wont crank fast enough with the starter to start.
I wire wheeled the crank end and pins and cleaned out the snout on the crank bolt and greased it so that it will kick the crank out when the motor starts. Just keep yourself clear when you do it and don't let it kick you! | | |
