I got my 60 C30 running today. I bought this truck site unseen from another bolter here. Accually I was supposed to haul it to his place, but somehow it ended up not coming off the trailer and following me home. The truck started out it life as a Bell phone utility model, in Neb. It went on to be a city salt spreader and snow plow, in another small Neb town. Now it sits here, waiting for me to replace its master/clutch cylinder. This may take a little longer as the lines dont appear like they'er going to come off nicely. This sure is a completely differnt style than what I'm used to working with. I didnt know what to think when i turned on the key and couldnt find any stomper in the floor. Those strange red lights on the dash for the gen and oil are going be differnt. Dont know if I trust a light for oil pressure. Any way, one more lives!!

Cool truck-looks to be in reasonable shape,too! What engine is it running?
Check the classifieds-there's a couple of guys selling dash clusters with gauges for reasonable. Easy enough to change,especially if they can come up with the under-dash wiring harness for the gauge cluster.

For being a plow and salt truck, I am supprised there is anything left of it! That truck has less rust on if from what I can see than a 86 GMC I had that came out of NorthEastern Pennsylvania!

Well guys i didnt show you the rusted parts. Ya its got rust. The fender kind of flap when you close the doors. Nothing personal about this line of trucks, but they seem to have been built out of some fairly cheap and thin metal. Plenty of place on them are just pockets waiting for dirt to fill in. The engine is a 235, and shows 119,000 at the dash. Most of the things work well on it still. The wipers, wipe, but the horn its very horny, and the brake lite dont work, but the turn signals do. The muffler has exhausted itself, and someone had taken off the left door opening guts and latch(still have all the parts and screws), but i dont seen anything wrong them. We judged it an ok truck as the dome light comes on. The heater puts out some great heat. I'm just going to use it for a beater, to drive to town, maybe install a hitch to pull my 18' trailer. I noticed that it has 17.5" tires. I'll bet those will be have to find used. It needs a couple on the back inners. It had a goose neck hook up on it, with a trap door in the middle of the bed. I'm sure it will pull good, if your not in a hurry to get there. Oh ya its got a hydro-vac on it too.
