For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 90 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 90 | I have checked all my local auto parts suppliers and nobody carries 1 3/8 inch fuel hose, I need to replace the filler neck hose on my Advanced Design truck. You would think with hundreds of thousands of vehicles built using this size hose someone would have it.
My friend used radiator hose for his and I guess with so little exposed that is an option but I would feel better about the proper material | | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,995 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,995 | | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 874 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 874 | Every single single parts supplier for Advance Design trucks have them. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,464 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,464 | Chev's of the 40's (good folks to do business with) have them for $10.25, if you're not doing a correct resto I like the radiator hose idea. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | I think you would be better off getting the correct type hose from one of the venders. The rad hose would probably get you by, but some of the stuff they put in todays gas is very corrosive to rubber, unless it's made for fuel use. Especially ehtanol. Not only could you end up with fumes in the cab if it eats though, but anything that it dissoves will end up in the tank and fuel system. If you do want to try the flaps, ask for fuel filler hose rather than fuel line. Sometimes you gotta be absolutly specific with those parts guys or you'll either get a "we don't have it" or a "it doesn't exist" answer.

My original hose I couldn't brake it loose, it had only been there 50 plus years...so I took a razor knife and split it...It has GM on it with the part number there too... BB | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 339 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 339 | OOPS sorry, I bought it at Carquest or NAPA. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 662 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 662 | | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 324 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 324 | Originally posted by Rich'sToys: Is there a difference?
