i just picked up a pontiac 350 block with pistons, rods, cam, lifters, crank, and timing chain now i was thinkin about what to do with such and engine because i found out that the pontiac 350 is kinda the red-headed stepchild of pontiac engines (just like the Chevy 307) now i know that GMCs came with pontaic engines (if they were V-8s) so putting it in a GMC or Chevy would kina be just a somewhat "normal" thing but i've never seen a F%$d with pontiac engine and i have a '63 F-250 with no engine that i was always wondering what to put in it (cause i have a Flathead V-8 also) so..... what to do? are pontiac engine parts easy to find? easy to beef up a little? anyone ever seen one in a F*#d? whats ur opinion on it?

Pontiac parts are real easy to find, but don't speed any money on the 350. Parts for the 400 and 455 will be about the same price if not cheaper, supply and demand. You will horsepower dollars ahead by building a bigger cubic inch engine. If the 350 is ready to run, by all means do it, it can only help the F**d! One of my relatives has a 54 f%^d with a 454, dropped, chopped,and cabover style hood and fenders. She is bad to the bone and just plane mean.

I put a pont. in a 64 Ford years ago. It fit real good & ran great. I drove it as an everyday driver for several years. Pont. engines are tough & fun to work on. They don,t have a lot of headbolts & the front timing cover comes off without disturbing the oil pan gasket. Ive never seen anything wrong with the 350 but the 400 & 455 are the same size & weight.
