For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 | Is there an online resource (besides you good people, obviously) with a chart of paint codes for '64-66 trucks? (And if not, why not? Is there a print source for this info?) I searched quite awhile with Google and came up empty.
I just picked up a '66 shorty to go with my '64 shorty and would like to know what the original color was. Paint code (I believe) is 535AD, located right below RPO Z62AA on the cowl tag. (It's hard to know what's what for sure because the tag has been painted over.)

I see on Bob Adler's site he offers, (from what I gather from his vauge discription) a chip set, for your particular year and some sort of article on painting for $20. Has anyone ever bought this and was it worth it?? He talks about PPG, so I'm assuming the paint chips are from PPG.

If not, and if someone's aware of a print resource, I'd happily transcribe the info and post it on my own website. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 | | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 117 | Thanks, 64fleetside -- that's exactly what I was looking for! For everyone else, I've done some research today on the '64-6 paint codes and added the information I've gathered thus far to my website in a new "Reference Area" at http://www.ls1c10.com/reference.html . Thanks again! | | |
