I have a big bolt with a roll out windshield...47/1 to be exact. The frame is rotted big time... I got a frame from ebay and the rods that hold it together are stuck big time.
I had a machinist try to get it out and he broke the rods at the first small bolt. the rest is stuck pretty hard...the parts that came out were rusted pretty good. How do I get the rest of the rods out and how far do they go in. The parts where the hinges go are punched slightly to keep them in place....does this have an effect....HELP

I thought 46 was the last year for the roll out but maybe some early 47's did have it?? Also not sure what you mean by "rods". The roll outs had a handle on the inside that went to the "crank mechanism" and it had a tongue on it that fasten to the windshield. The top part of the windshield bolted to two "hinges" that recessed back into the cab. Am I misunderstanding something here....or forgotten?!!

that's just what the doctor ordered...the tech tip is the best.....thanks a bunch...I will do a bit of a cut so get the rest of the connecting bar out...the problem is that they are broken at the first screw....how do I replace them with one of the proper angle....

I was able to get the rods out by drilling a hole in the center of the rod, I then tapped it, soaked it in penetrating oil screwed in a lag bolt then tapped the bolt in and pulled out. This really took a couple of days but it didn't damage the frame at all so there was no repair to be made.
