I plan on putting on a MII kit.
I found one through Classic Performance
it's $1899 for the one with bags.
I've just started looking, Where is the best deal on one of these? And are there any out there I should avoid? Is there a big difference in the quality? Any of your experiences would add to mine. P.S. If you could convince me otherwise please do.

I literally JUST finished installing a Heidt's MII kit, and it was freaking great. the instructions were spot-on, and it seemed that they had worked out the bugs long ago! not sure about the C.P. version of the MII, but if it's like the Heidt's, should be easy. I'm not the world's best gearhead, but my buddy & me parked it under a tree, took off the old front end, and slowly put it all back together, with a little luck and a lot of measuring before welding or cutting, it went together great. the great thing is I bought the kit through Chevy Duty (rip) and the brake pads they sent were all messed up, and when I called Heidt's they didnt ask questions, they just sent out some new ones, along with some other stuff I was getting, even though I wasnt in their computer as a customer. very nice. good luck with the conversion and send some pix to the 'Bolt!

sure love my old Chevy.

The Heidt's is the top of line in comparison to the others. I have owned or helped to install that,Fatman,C.E. and R.B.s and others. The upper arm are a different type, once you align, you don't mess around again. If you have already planned to use the Heidt's and find the price agreeable, then I would not even bother with the rest. There is more info on Chevytalk, do a search if needed. Good luck to you. Crosleyfield hit on a good point....

ENSURE THAT YOUR MEASUREMENTS ARE CORRECT, DO NOT MEASURE ONLY TWICE.. MEASURE, REMEASURE AND MEASURE AGAIN.

Then have the welder measure it too...

HEIDTS IS THE BEST GET THE SETUP FOR COILS WITH THE CONVERSION KIT FOR BAGS THEN IF YOU WANT TO TAKE OFF THE BAGS YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO CHANGE THE UPPER HATS. (THE UPPER HATS ARE THE PIECES THE UPPER A ARMS BOLT TO I BELIEVE THE BAGS ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE COILS) I USE HYDRO RAMS SO I USE THE COIL SET UP

Robin, you are correct, CPP is a dist for TCI. TCI is good qual stuff, the support and printed matter are weak since their budget goes into pretty color ads and product development. Some parts are multi-application, but most guys can "make" them work. Still a different set-up than Heidt's. No matter the maker, measure 3 times, weld once. Jon

I used TCI, parts were of good quality. Instructions stunk, not very clear. Also I had a problem with one part, returned it, took at least 2months to get another part from them. Numerous phone calls did not speed up the process. I would not use them again!!!

RB's and Chassis Eng offer a bolt on crossmember, they claim it is better than weld on for a +$200 more. Anyone know about these bolt on X members? Thanks for the help.
