I found one through Classic Performance it's $1899 for the one with bags. I've just started looking, Where is the best deal on one of these? And are there any out there I should avoid? Is there a big difference in the quality? Any of your experiences would add to mine. P.S. If you could convince me otherwise please do. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,441 Moderator - The Electrical Bay | | Moderator - The Electrical Bay Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,441 | I used a heidts kit, (not the bags), disk to disk for something around 2500... works great...

I'm not the world's best gearhead, but my buddy & me parked it under a tree, took off the old front end, and slowly put it all back together, with a little luck and a lot of measuring before welding or cutting, it went together great. the great thing is I bought the kit through Chevy Duty (rip) and the brake pads they sent were all messed up, and when I called Heidt's they didnt ask questions, they just sent out some new ones, along with some other stuff I was getting, even though I wasnt in their computer as a customer. very nice. good luck with the conversion and send some pix to the 'Bolt!
sure love my old Chevy.

I have owned or helped to install that,Fatman,C.E. and R.B.s and others. The upper arm are a different type, once you align, you don't mess around again. If you have already planned to use the Heidt's and find the price agreeable, then I would not even bother with the rest. There is more info on Chevytalk, do a search if needed. Good luck to you. ENSURE THAT YOUR MEASUREMENTS ARE CORRECT, DO NOT MEASURE ONLY TWICE.. MEASURE, REMEASURE AND MEASURE AGAIN.
Then have the welder measure it too...

(THE UPPER HATS ARE THE PIECES THE UPPER A ARMS BOLT TO I BELIEVE THE BAGS ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE COILS) I USE HYDRO RAMS SO I USE THE COIL SET UP | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 60 Member | | Member Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 60 | Robin, you are correct, CPP is a dist for TCI. TCI is good qual stuff, the support and printed matter are weak since their budget goes into pretty color ads and product development. Some parts are multi-application, but most guys can "make" them work. Still a different set-up than Heidt's. No matter the maker, measure 3 times, weld once. Instructions stunk, not very clear. Also I had a problem with one part, returned it, took at least 2months to get another part from them. Numerous phone calls did not speed up the process. I would not use them again!!! | | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 305 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 305 |
