The inertia generated by the heavy pistons distorts the babbett material. Simply replacing the cast iron pistons with aluminum will allow you to turn significantly more RPM without hurting your engine.

I remember hearing about forged aluminum, cast aluminum, forged steel, but I don't know if I have read about cast iron.
