I know the colors are not quite exact but this is a parade and Sunday driver not a show truck (besides from what I have heard Chevy was not that specific about their colors in the fifties anyway).

I just had a successfull test run to see if I put it all back together right. Fired right up and seems to run fine ( a little smoke but not bad for having sat for an unknown number of years)

Did you have her running yet? That must be one of the best moments of the restoration, can't wait till my 4 will fire the first time, but it might be far away yet, everything ceased and hard to take apart without wrecking. No cracks found in the blok yet, but I can't be sure either. Keep up the good work, the hard part is over, now you just have to make her beautiful

Thanks...I did get her running and she sounds great. I have to do some fine tuning but all seems right so far.

Your right it was quite a kick to hear her fire up. I can't wait to get to work on the cab.

Don't sweat the colors. You'll never get an exact match on a 50 year old color anyhow. As far as I'm concerned, so long as you like it, that's all that matters.

Well done!!! Do you think these old gals were that good looking when they first came off the assembly line???? Talk about a makeover!!!

I don't think they looked anywhere near this good. Problem is not I have to wash my hands everytime I want to touch something for fear I will get her dirty.
