They fit good & looked great. They do hurt the resale value for some strange reason. I guess they got a bad reputation back when the quality wasn,t very good.

Anyone can have a fiberglas part but not everyone can have the real deal. I have shown my cars and trucks and it always ticks me off to see something with fiberglas fenders win (knowing that he didn't have to put as much $$, blood, sweat and tears in it as I did) and mine is REAL. They were on the truck when I bought it, and they fit good, so I could give a rat's a$$ less that they are not "real" - but then neither are many other repro parts that I have put in the truck. Unless you are into show trucks that are all original, I don't see anything wrong with putting on fiberglass fenders. Some of the vendors also sell repro metal fenders, but they are pretty pricey. I don't think theres anything wrong with putting fiberglass on. My 48 panel has fiberglass front and rear fenders, front and rear splash aprons and runningboards. The parts fit great and they've held up awsome couldn't be happier and saved a sh$t load of time on body work. I got them from Jim Carters. He seems to build good fenders and runningboards.

| | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 2,557 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 2,557 | Sometimes fiberglas parts can be more tedious to work with.Suppliers are offering reproduction steel fenders.The front are about $480.00 each,i don't know how they fit.You should be able to find some really nice used fenders.Try looking in the swap section"truck parts for sale" and list what you are looking for in "truck parts wanted".You could try jim carters or tom meyers in miami oklahoma,both have really nice parts.Whatever way you decide to go,fiberglas or steel,good luck !!!
