Well ,all the mounts are done and today I pulled the mill out so I can do the firewall. First all the bondo to cover all the new welded panels and then primer. As I primered the firewall today, I noticed at least 50 factory holes in the firewall, what are they all for? Is there a map somewhere to tell me?Tommorro I paint and the the motor goes back in for a while, and I have to hook everything up and try to fire it up.That should be interesting as I also have to change over to 12 volt.At least I feel like the "Big Giant Shelf" might actually see the road again.It sat on a farm ,dormant from 1973 till 1996.The owner gave it to his nephew who dismantled it and left it exposed to the elements after sanding it down to metal for 2 years.I bought it 2 years later for $50.00 about 10 years ago.This is the roughest body I've ever seen restored in my life. I think I paid the truck to restore it ,rather than the other way around.I had to fabricate at least a hundred panels in order to get it to this point.Every time I get to another part, I find that it too has more thru rust.I should have replaced the cab as well as every other body panel. I replaced the entire front end and box and doors.The only original body part is the parts of the cab that I didn't weld in and the front splash pan that also needed major work.Can any one relate to getting paid 3 cents an hour?But,,,,,,I am finally seeing a light,is it my old age?
