For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 102 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 102 | A friend of mine called me today with a truck question I couldn't answer. He said, someone knowing he was a car guy, told him about a 53 GMC truck for sell with a factory automatic transmission. I wasn't sure of the first year of the hydromatic in an AD truck. Can someone tell me? Thanks.

Supposed to have 100% efficiency like a manual. Modern auto trans have almost 10% slippage. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 21 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 21 | 53 gimmi hydra was 2 speed, I believe.
