| | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 328 Member | | Member Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 328 | I have been replacing many things in my engine, and noticed yesterday that my PVS (ported vacuum switch) has 4 hoses coming out of it, NONE of which are plugged into anything...??? Also the PVS, which is gray plastic, is supposed to screw down into the Thermostat housing, but has broken off of that as well. So essentially, the whole thing is not connected to anything. what does this thing do and do I need to bother replacing it? It's been like this for about a year, or more. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 226 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 226 | Those things used to run all kind of things according to engine temp such as the damper door on the air cleaner, and smog pumps and stuff...if its runnin ok without it...those things it ran are probably gone around or long gone...i wouldnt worry about it too much....
