I do not believe it is what came as stock. The block casting # is 3877178C GM25. I think it may be from a '62 possibly a 235? I have been on this site since last summer in the lurking mode, but have learned alot from you guys about my 66. Thanks, Rick

On the 8 cylinder engine the casting number is on the driver side rear of the engine, just above the bellhousing or transmission depending on which trans you have. There are several sites that give you breakdowns on casting numbers.
Heres to us and those like us, theres darn few left.
