My problem is the throw in between gears is really far.Is there a kit to shorten the throw or maybe a better shifter kit?I have a four speed granny top loader in my shed but am a little lazy at the moment to install it. Any help would be appreciated. Hurst made a short shifter for 4 speeds I don't remember seeing one for a 3 spd. There are several factors affecting the the throw. The lenght of the shift lever from knob to pivot point, and the lenght of the lower shift lever from pivot point to rod linkage. The shorter these are the shorter the throw. Another consideration might be the angle of the shift lever. If it isn't already back to the seat you might want to see if it be made to get there. You might take a look at the shifters on that auction sight and compare to yours.

The linkage from stick to tranny is prety close now.Maybe I will see about a shorter stick.
As for the old granny tranny I have out in the shed I don't really have any plans on putting it in soon.I'm kinda holding out for a real 4 speed.This truck has a 327 from a camaro in it that a previous owner installed that is pretty quick but left the original 3 speed in it.
