I am in the planning stages for my project and I am trying to find the best way to get rid of the torque tube and go to open drive line. Thanks!

Most of the aftermarket "wheel shops" make 5 lug rims that will take a 'modified' original looking wheel. Not your originals, but a look-alike that fits their special rims. You should contact Chevs of the 40s or check Hemmings Motor News for wheel shops. Happy hunting.
