An old Napa catalog shows 40 series 39-50 wheel cylinders front part # 3406. 11/4 diameter. Rear repair kit part # 37. Front repair kit part#8. The brake shoes only go back to 53.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

IWL,

Are the shoes in good shape? A long while ago, I had a set on my half ton re-lined. I don't know of they can do it on your bigger truck or not. It might be worth a look if the shoes are not junk.

I'm fairly sure your truck uses the same kind of huck brakes that my 47 does. You should be able to find the parts at most napa stores. You can have your shoes relined by them, as long as the cores aren't damaged.

When I was redoing the brake/master cyls. on my truck, I had them all bored and resleeved with brass or stainless steel(your choice)to original specs.,rebuilt with stock rubber kits, and now use silicone brake fluid. Supposed to be less corrosive and not bothered by moisture. My truck is not a daily driver, it could be but its a 1945 2ton 12'flatbed. I read about this proceedure in This Old Truck/Vintage Truck magazine. I am totally satisfied with this...
