Anyone know a source for the bracket that holds the rear shackel bolt? This is the bracket that is riveted to the frame. Mine are worn too much to be used.

shoe . . . the shackle "pin" with the coarse threads is threaded into a bushing that can be pressed out of the cast rear shackle bracket that is riveted to the frame.

I have bought a dozen or so sets from ebay over the last 2 years at about $15 - $20 a kit

If you are talking about the forward spring pivot bracket that has the bolt that threads in . . . or if you need just the rear most bracket that holds the shackle pin, the wrecking yard is where to go or some place that sells used parts like that place in Arizona with the big ugly guy with all the rust free trucks and parts for sale.

Well, I need the bracket that is riveted to the frame for the rear springs. The original bolts wore through the threaded bushing and about 1/2 inch into the bracket ... yukk! Guess I need to find a frame at the salvage yard. Thanks.

I posted an ad in parts wanted for these brackets just 3 days ago and quickly got 4 replies. Looks like I have found the parts I need. Thanks to all the folks who watch this board and participate. That's a big part of the enjoyment of working on these old stovebolts.

Advise drilling out the rivets and using grade 8 or grade 11 bolts, those should be plenty strong. Be sure to loctite them though...

Yep, it's a common problem. The solution is regularly greasing those fittings.
