It needs a front fender, and a bunch of sanding for the body to be ok, and a seat cover for the inside to be ok. Now the transmission and rear end might be alittle scary because the truck has sat for 23+ years. Thats a long time.... It has a I6 in it, which is probably frozen, and even if it is not, Im sticking a 350 in it that is coming out of my 62 impala. Now, one more thing im worried about, the pedals all seem fried, along with the shifter. It's a 3-on-the-tree, or 3 speed on the column, whichever you prefer. The shifter moves up and down, but doesn't move toward me, like it should right? At least the shifter on my 67 f100 will move towards you because the shift pattern is 1st- to you and down
2nd- up and away. and 3rd is straight down. That is correct right? because it only move to 3rd, neutral and 2nd, by the looks and feel of it. Anyway, MY two questions are How easy will the engine swap be, and Is the linkage just stuck on the column somewhere or what? If your putting in the engine from the impala then why dont you use the tranny also? That is if the 3 spd in the truck seems to be frozen up. Be sure to check the linkage from the column to the tranny to see if its binding. If thats ok then it could be the tranny not letting you shift through the gears because of being wore out. As far as the V-8 going into the truck youll need V-8 motor mounts to accomplish this. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 47 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 47 | Welcome, you are getting what I consider a great deal. I have a 64 C10 that I am presently working on. I opted to keep the 292 and put in a Muncie 4 speed. Good luck with your project.

I dont know about the transmission beging locked, but the linkage sure is. I haven't worked with it yet. I will be getting the truck tomorrow morning.
